Soil test kits

I know the arguments against home soil testing kits but I have several beds that have different environments. The PH kits you get in the home centers are fairly economical and accurate but the NPK tests are fairly expensive and I'm skeptical of their accuracy due to the very small amount of soil used in the sample.

Are there any test kits on the web designed for the serious gardener?

I don't even mind paying a little more than the home center kits if they are superior.

PS. Despite rumors to the contrary I read that Consumer reports did a study on these test and found them fairly accurate. I think where they fail is with gowing mediums that have a lot of coarse organic matter. The sample is so small and probably non-represenative that I don't really trust it. I suppose the sample could be ground up but this may change the results.
