Is there an A frame design using those wavy plastic panels?
Comments (4)Corrugated polycarbonate (wavy plastic?) is most commonly found in either 3x8 or 3x12 sheets. However, it makes for a poor covering in most gh designs. There is moulding designed to fit the corrugation, but this still fits poorly, with cracks galore. Trying to seal with caulking is a temporary solution at best, once there are a few expansion/contraction cycles and drying out from heat. In your next post you asked about "corrugated plastic" that might be available in rolls. This has me wondering if you may be talking about twinwall, which comes in either polyethylene or polycarbonate. Polyethylene twinwall is available in rolls, but polycarbonate is not. Solexx is one manufacturer of polyethylene twinwall, however, it is not cheap. If you are looking for an inexpensive solution that is durable, you will have to consider reinforced UV fabric. -Bruce...See MoreWhat sealants are best for Polycarbonate
Comments (12)Hi As a side note there are some types of acrylic materials that silicone adheres very poorly.Acrylic comes to mind. Will stick for a long time and then pop off. It does adhere to vinyl in spite of what I was told. I had to use a hammer to get old vinyl boards apart over ten years old!! During the hurricane , material failed before the silicone!! and it pulled out screws.!! Does anyone know of a chemical that will remove silicone.?? A lot more labor to take it off then put it on. Please save me from scraping the entire roof!!lol gary...See Moretwin-wall polycarbonate greenhouse panels
Comments (4)There is also www.FarmTek.com - they have twin-wall panels made by Palram, custom @$5.95 per 4' sheet and 4x8' sheets @ $41.95. Shipping seems to be $7.00 per linear ft per package up to 12' - to a maximum no. of sheets per package of 50. They also have a roll of twin-wall corrugated plastic: 8' wide; each @ $7.39 per linear ft, and a 250' roll @$6.95/linear ft. They don't say what the shipping/freight charges on that would be. You can also call them - 1-800-327-6835. While I am not sure how much they would be price-wise compared to local sources, their prices for the water filters I have bought from them seems to be competitive ($5-7 against what I priced at Lowe's a few years ago at over $15!) - they have stuff for agricultural growing and storage, so they carry everything that can come under that heading - the specialty catalogue I just got, for that only, runs to 352 pages....See Morevisqueen inside polycarbonate panels
Comments (1)Have you tried Growers Supply? They have greenhouse film, reflective flooring, bubble wrap, etc. On page 196 of their latest catalog, they have Tekfoil Clear Bubble Insulation. It's 6 ft wide, price per linear foot is $3.62 for 10-124 feet, $3.42 for 125 feet and up. Minimum order 10 feet. They also sell a double faced Plastic Tape to install the bubble wrap with. I ordered some coir blocks recently and my order was here within 2-3 days, and very well packed. The other items were not damaged at all. Here's their site:...See Morehartwood
