Some spring blooming trees, magnolia, early cherry, etc.
Comments (1)Magnolias might be the greatest tree genus on earth if they had nice fall color. Still a must have anyway you cut it. Finally adding a few more this year. Those look exceptionally florous....See MoreTree peony really needs to be pruned in early Spring?
Comments (1)I really don't think you need to prune them unless the tree peony is so heavy that they are about to fall over which it doesn't sound like. If you have herbaceous root stock, you could also take some scions off of your tree peony, and make grafts to get more plants. Another option is to take the entire plant, dig it out, and plant it deeper, or sideways so it can make even more shoots from it's woody stems....See MoreEarly Spring 2008 - more blooms on the way

Florida is really beautiful and as the name implies many completly gorgeous flowers will grow there :) I've only lived really close to the beach once. (Half moon Bay San Fran) I loved the sound and the smell of the ocean. I think I would like Florida better tho. I'm not much for chilly weather and Half Moon was too cold for me. nice, how neat! They turned it into a nursery/historical demo garden thing. If I had the money I'd rehab an old Victorian house and re-create the gardens in a minute! PJ...See MoreEarly spring blooming perennials

Fringe tree, Bridal wreath spirea, azaleas,Pink indigo bush, lorepetalum, Texas olive, Cross vine, viburnum obovatum, jessamine, confederate jasmine, other jasmine, bloodroot, winter blooming honey suckle, Blanco crab apple , rough leafed dogwood. camellia, bulbine, mock orange, Ajuga reptans You should ask this question on the Texas forum discussion board . there are a couple of posters there from the houston area that are into all things flowering perennials and they would know what does better in your soil conditions and rainfall. I am just guessing and trying to remember my mom;s neighbors garden....See MoreIris GW
