There are a number of Gators for JD 48" decks there. Include your OEM part number and you'll find that folks will be more helpful.

You need Gator part number 92-616 this blade is for the decks equipted with the starlock blades. Your old OEM part number should be GX21784 that came with your deck. Most likely they will have to order them from Oregon brand mower parts. Try www.agri-supply.com at 1-800-345-0169

The link I included was a for the PDF file on the page you listed maybe your on dial up, I didn`t have a problem bring it up. PDF file take longer to load.

Also the index includes a gator blade for the 54" mower deck on AYP built Lawn equipment. I`ve heard where some folks paid up and over $70.00 for a set of OEM blades, not sure if Sears was scalping them with their high shipping charges.

agri-supply.com is the best place to buy your blades, just guessing on price but they should be around $10.00 per blade. Best to call 1-800-345-0169 and talk to a real person and answer any question the may have. Also the new blades are not listed in their catalog or online yet.

I made my own set of Gator blades for my G110 the starlock blades don`t hold up very long, and a set cost over $50.00 for the dealer. Gator Part number 90-406

I got a set of Gator blades Part number 90-406 for a G100 they still use the round mounting hole, OEM part #M115496. I opened it up very carefully so it wouldn`t be out of round or out of balance. They slipped over the starlock nice and snug and work great.

They`ve made the biggest improvement in the cut and are great on leaves, good suction, grass stands right up. I didn`t get any vibration because I took my time. The set cost me only $39 and change that included shipping from agri-supply and the mower has over 120 hours on that set of Gators. OEM`s blades didn`t last two weeks before the sharp cut started to go away.

Mowerman, I realize it's the same link. I double checked it yesterday to make sure that both were identical. I have Comcast cable running at over 2mb download speed (I just tested it) so it's not my connection speed causing the problem. When I click the catalog box at the Oregon site, the catalog comes up instantly. When I click your direct link, the file hangs.

I've seen direct links hang at other sites, particularly large files (acrobat, videos, high res photos, etc.). I posted the work araound in case someone else had the same problem.

Just got my Gators for my 54" AYP deck yesterday. I paid $7.75 per blade at http://www.mowproduct.com. I believe shipping was about $10. I can't say enough about the blades. I only used them for about 10 minutes to see how they would do on some oak leaves. They did a better job side discharging than my old blades did with the mulch plug. I can't wait to see how they do on my grass next summer.

I am trying to find Gator Blades for my CC 2518 w/ 44" deck. The OEM blade part # is 759-3939. They are 16" and have a 3/4" hole. Can anyone tell me if they make a blade to fit? I had no luck looking on the sites listed above.

I am also looking for Gator Blades for a Kubota T1400. I was hoping I could look it up using the tractor model #, but I will need to get the blade info.

Now I have some more info. The blades for the CC 2518 are 16" long by 2.5" wide and have a 3/4" hole. (CC part # 759-3939.

The Kubota blades are 20 1/2" long by 2 3/8" wide and have a 23/32" hole. Kubota part # 66071-61760)

Any help finding Gator Blades to replace these would be greatly appreciated.

I have gators on my JD GT235. Its a 48"C deck.

I got mine at my local JD dealer. Got the right ones the second time. First time I got massively oversized blades for a 64" deck or something. New girl at the parts counter I guess.

kcook969, I have the exact same tractor and deck as you. (Mine is a 2001 and I don't know if the blades or deck changed from year-to-year.) Any chance you know the part number for the right ones? I think it is 90-348 (which the mowpart website says replaces the M145476). I'll check my owner's manual tonite to make sure of the part number for the original JD blades.

I just went up to the service counter at the dealer, said I have a GT234 with a 48C deck, she tapped a few keys and went back and grabbed a box.

M145476 is the JD mower's stock blade. My local JD dealer had Gators or JD Predators. I THINK the mulching blades are M127673. Might be High lift, not certain.

Should fit from 99 onwards.

kcook969 how do you like the cut of the gators compared to the factory blades?

I'm sorry to report that I'm one of the few people that do not like the Gator Blades. After using them on my GT235 w/48C all last fall and until June 1st they just don't "mulch" the clippings that well. I have converted back to the JD mulch plug and JD blades. Please understand the JD mulch plug and JD blades work best for my yard (pretty thick KBG) and that others find that the Gators work better for them. This is just one persons experience.

I will use the Gators in the fall and spring when I want to bag the yard. The rest of the time I will be using the JD mulch plug and JD blades.

Stevejd235-You might want to try the Gators with the JD mulch plug, that is what I do with mine and have had good luck (as good or better than the OEM mulch blades, and a heck of a lot cheaper).

What about the Gator fins rubbing/cutting into the JD mulch plug? Also, I notice that the JD mulch blades "push" the clippings into the grass more than "throwing" them as the Gators do. Finally, the JD mulch blades actually keep the underside of the deck cleaner than the Gators. Again, this has only been my view, I know others have had wonderful results with Gators.

My blades "just miss" the diverter (38" deck, see link) yours may be different. I also always mow at the maximum height (unfortunately it is only 3.5" on my mower) which also helps. I usually only have a very small amount of buildup (under the diverter and in other "corners") when I take my deck off once or twice a year. I also have the Gator Magnums, I don't know which set you have (they have different models with varying lift).

Well I don't use the plug with my deck but there is a noticeable difference between stock and the Predator/Gators.

It seems the clippings are not only cut up the grass better, but get thrown more evenly. Stock blades tended to make grass clumps and I would have to sweep them up.

They also seem to keep an edge better, give a cleaner cut, and require less frequent sharpening.

I do sweep from time to time but just to top off the compost pile.
