Question About Conserve SC

Last year thrips did quite a number on my roses. I tried spraying several pesticides directly into the blooms, but it had little effect. I've been doing some research and found that Conserve SC (though rather $$) is suppose to be very effective in controlling them. I also read it can only be applied 4-6 times a year. True, I could not grow the color of roses they are attracted to, but I have too much time and money invested in whites, mauves, etc. What is your experience with this product? Is it worth the associated cost or is there a less expensive alternative?

Jeff
