Snapper 2044 VS. Broadmoor Lawn Tractor

Hi,

We are looking for a lawn tractor and IâÂÂve done a lot of research, especially through this excellent forum. I believe weâÂÂve narrowed it down to the Snapper 2044 or possibly a Simplicity Broadmoor.

We have about 2 acres to mow, maybe a bit less as weâÂÂll have someone hay a part of pasture. It is hilly, but not excessive, a bit rocky in some spots and one area near a dried up pond can get marshy.

From studying this forum and elsewhere IâÂÂve determined:

â¢We want to avoid an MTD tractor, so we went toward Simplicity/Snapper.

â¢A John Deere seems to be out of our price range.

â¢We want to purchase from a dealer for warranty and repair help.

â¢We want to be able to haul firewood, plants, soil but not excessive weights.

â¢WeâÂÂre looking for comfort, for me to drive as well as my husband.

â¢Ease in changing the oil and tune-ups.

â¢Longevity. We want something to last more than 3 to 5 years.

â¢We are being told to go with a deck that is more in the 44 " 48 range rather than larger to avoid problems. One dealer claims the larger decks are more suited to flat land.

Does anyone on this forum have any direct experience with the Snapper 2044? IâÂÂve noticed some posts, quite extensive (with pictures) about the Broadmoor. How do they compare? Is the Broadmoor really worth it for at least another $1000?

Thanks for any insights!
