I did a search for florida tropical nurserys and found a tropical web site. It makes me really think it is that tree, or is it a bush. Pretty weird it is tucked in there like that. However it is surrounded by palmetto bushes and it says it blocks plants near it. Oh well, palmettos have their own minds! Now I have to find out if it is ok if a cow eats it as we are going to fence off the front for an alternative pasture for our 2 cows, to give the regular pasture a break. I can't believe how many things are nasty for a cow! Wow, I couldn't use the words top and another specific word together, I got a spam warning. Seems that company has been causing spamming problems, or they got hacked and spamming is going on.

Looks like Epilobium ciliatum to me. It is a common weed (but native!) that likes moist, shady areas. What you are referring to as "shoots" are actually the sprung-open seed pods -- you can see a few bits of the fluff that are attached to the seeds still hanging on in your photo. Hi guys, It is an Episcia from our Exotic Angel Plants collection. We do have it on our website: http://www.costafarms.com/plants/flame-violet But unfortunately, it looks like I haven't done a good enough job writing it for it to pop up high enough on Google or other search engines. The two varieties we're growing, I believe, are Pink Panther and Country Quilt. Regarding the tags: Our tag manufacturers have minimum orders, so if we don't grow enough of a plant, it can't have a variety-specific tag. And certain retailers are very specific about tags and labeling and what we're allowed to do on our plants. That said, I know --- and readily admit --- that we can do a better job than we are now. Yup, one of my favorite free hitch hikers. I've dug up dozens that self seeded and put them around my beds. they're one of the earliest bloomers in Feb. here in 9a/b. Some of mine this year are very dark violet instead of the more common medium blue. They're also pretty drought resistant and seem to love my lousy, sandy soil. they should be used more, IMO.
