Has anyone ever successfully broken down a HFGH?

I am probably going to go with the 10x12 HFGH and will probably need to move it in a few years when we build our new house...Of course, I could change my mind then, but it seems to me like a great amount of effort to just leave it behind.....

Anyone else ever had to do this?

I'm researching this site for the tips from others on getting the GH up and reinforced etc. and there are so many great tips on enhancing the installation instructions...I"m going to read, read, read and get it all down.

I suspect these are too new for anyone to have taken one apart yet. While it MAY be possible, I can't imagine why you'd attempt it given how cheap they are. For one thing, if you don't COMPLETELY take it apart, there'll be the possibility of twisting and permanently damaging aluminum when you move it. And if you've peeled-off the ID stickers, well it seems high risk to get it back together. And if you've done any electrical work/conduits man that'd be a real pain to take apart.

If it were me and I faced a move "in a few years" I would just look forward to building a new GH in the new location. Like everything else these days, they'll prolly be better and cheaper too.

I suppose you are correct, it just seems that it would be something that I'd be attached to, especially after putting a bunch of work into it, to get it "JUST" right.....but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

I do imagine a VERY nice big, NEW shiny GH in my new home. And this one will certainly be a starter for me...but still $600-$700 isn't pocket change for me....I guess I"ll have to consider the resale value added to the existing home and just let it go.

I am also wondering if anyone has a coupon from the Harbor Freight store for the 15% off? I've signed up online for their ads etc. But have not seen anything come yet. The sale here (Macon)on the 10x12 ends Sept 24th!!! so I really hope to get ahold of this coupon before that date. 15% off of $599 would be a nice savings.

And you can do yourself a favor by getting a shovel out right now. Those woody vines tend to have roots that run all over the place and if you can pull out a five foot section of it, that's more you won't need to worry about and it's also rewarding in a personal way because you're destroying your enemy! I have a similar plant here that comes in from my neighbor's yard and it pops up randomly. This year I just ripped out the roots wherever they lead and it turned out they'd made a network all over the place. Your landscaper was an idiot for telling you additional dirt would smother it. The only kind of weed that you kill with plastic or dirt like that are things like dandelions - superficial weeds. Woody plants are entirely different. But because they store nutrients in their roots for the winter, applying Roundup or whatever now is most effective.

Hi Pam!! I'm here!! I just made the salad again for our Christmas feast-there are pics of the salad on my FaceBook page! The recipe is on my old computer so I just wing it and use all sort of salami, ham, provelone-toss in some raw veggies such as bell pepper, celery and onion for crunch. I only use Barilla tiny bow ties for the pasta-I just like the way they look and they are the perfect size. toss everything together with Jardines Muffeletta Spread and there you have it!! I'll most likely make it next time Amy comes home. Cheers! Susie

it depends on how many existing floors are already there. for vinyl tile, think 3 is about the limit...you might want to take a single tile and check if doors will close, nothing will be blocked... i like the armstrong brand, from the big 2...if you need or decide to replace,it can be done..a little messsy but dh an di foud a quick way. we used the steam floor cleaner! it loosen up the tiles really well...used this special adhesive remover from home depot for the excess/leftover glue. (stinky! but worked)

My mother painted hers years ago. Some type of faux finish. They held up pretty well for several years, but didn't age well. My cousin helped me update her home for sale (as I live out of state). They did some kind of spray on finish. I haven't seen it in person, but it looks amazing in pictures. Almost like quartz. Even turned the bright yellow sink black. It only cost $500 for her huge kitchen and can with a lifetime guarantee. Everyone who has seen the house has told me they were surprised I spent the $$ for new countertops! I will try to find out what its called.
