It took you forever to find lawn tractor tires? It took me about 30 minutes. Just find the tire you want on Carlisle's product guide, then search for it on eBay.

While I agree with "WHEELHORSE" that smart aleck sarcasm isn't appropriate, the initial post does sound like someone shilling this "Small Tires" with their breathless endorsement.

If I thought the guy was seriously trying to help anyone but himself I would have given him a more serious answer. Do you seriously believe he had to "look forever" for tires for a Cub Cadet? I will wait for his next post to apologize though, as these types tend to drop their spam and run. Also notice he registered on March 1st and immediately started this thread.

I once posted a link to an information site about tomatoes and peppers with nothing on the site for sale, I got a few replies telling me it's againts the rules to spam the forum. One of them was a picture of spam cans stacked up...it was actually amusing.

The tire people recommend changing you air just as often if you use synthetic, but that is probably because the get a kickback on the sale of dino-air!

Do you have to use dino-air to break the tires in and then switch to synthetic after a certain amount of time? I might wait to see if Sears runs a sale on theirs. Is the air you buy at the big box stores the same as the air from the dealer? Is there a company that sells American Made air? Used air is cheaper, but what if I am not much of a mechanic? The questions really add up after a while.

If you specifically want hot air, Washington, D.C. has an inexhaustible supply from a great number of distributors, but the quality and price varies greatly. Caveat emptor.

But, but, but.....I have left over Summer air in my tires from last mowing season. Does it go stale like bottled water?

Is there an additive you can add (like Stabil for air or something) to keep the air from going stale over the Winter? Maybe MMO makes something for this purpose (sort of like a breath mint for tires).

Sorry guys I actually work for a living and havn't had time to re-check my original post. I was sincerely trying to be helpful. What I didn't say in my original post was that I had a problem finding the correct wheel for an old Cub Cadet that I've been remodeling. The folks at SmallTires gave me a contact for the wheels and I did purchase lawn tires from them as well. I realize you can find lawn tires anywhere, but you can't find service like I received just anywhere. I was attempting to help them out. Once again, something that you guys may not ever do. Sorry to bore you.

One last question:

I have calcium chloride in my tractor tires tubes. I am worried that the salt would be bad for my blood pressure. Does anyone know where I can get a chemical separator? I figure that while calcium might be a little noisy in the tires, liquid chlorine is probably just fine. So I need to get the calcium out...

That makes all the difference, what with their crazy sizing they did in the old days it would definitely take a company like www.smalltires.com to find a comparable small tire. My local tire dealer put two new tires on the front of my tractor for $35! That was a couple years back so the price is probably up a couple bucks. I was surprised at how cheap it was to get nice new rubber.

Your dealer probably got them from www.smalltires.com. They ship quick, have the best prices and service, and can even find tires for old Cub Cadets.
