Anyone experience mineral deficiencies?

Hi,

I have some 5+ year old hybrid teas, climbers and potted roses and several have some totally yellow leaves, no green vein. These are this years leaves, not last years as I pull off all old leaves in late winter. The problem leaves are not low on the plant so I don't think it's nitrogen deficiency. I apply a small amount of epsom salt every year in early spring. I use a typical rose fertilizer.

I know there are many causes of yellow leaves but I went ahead and applied a mix of gypsum, epsom salt and iron. Last year I had black edges on some of the blooms which I believe may be a calcium deficiency.

It's not a big deal but I thought mineral deficiencies are very rare. Then again, roses grow so fast that perhaps they are prone to these issues occasionally. Just curious.
