The variegated foliage and yellow blooms on Euphorbia epithymodies 'First Blush' mix very well with the Phlox. Even though Cerastium tomentosum 'Silver Carpet' blooms later than the Phlox, the silver foliage blends really well the Phlox, as well. Best of luck!

The creeping phlox will probably overtake the campanula in a year or two. I'd probably move the campanula. I love creeping phlox, but it needs to be put with plants that can hold their own with it.

I planted some on a hill side in hard clay. I got them on discount after they bloomed. I can't believe how great they have done! They are huge! I did't have high hopes for them, but I was wrong! Is this normal for them to enjoy clay that much??

Some of my Phlox subulata do very well every year. Some of them have been ratty by winter's end. Especially any whites that I've ever had. The best performer for me has been 'Blue Diamond'. It always looks pretty good with very little dead stems having to be trimmed off in the spring. It also grows to a huge size in my clay, part sun locations. I've divided mine and put them in a few places. They look great in bloom and then look neat the rest of the season. They are pretty good at suppressing weeds and the only complaint I have is that it takes me a little time to cl*ean them up in the spring of all the dead leaves that get stuck in them and to trim off any dead stems. They are no care otherwise.

Gee, I'm jealous! I tried creeping phlox on the slope that runs along the front of my property along the street. The slope is split by the driveway. On one side, I finally gave up on pink phlox and decided to go with pink sedum. The phlox kept dying - but now so is the sedum!

On the other side, I gave up on blue phlox and planted sedum kamschaticum which is doing very well. I did keep a small planting of blue phlox around a daffodil planting, interspersed with grape hyacinths and chionodoxa. But I see this year the blue phlox is not so great either, even though it's been okay for a few years.

I think it's time to move on. There is a fast food place in town that has the most gorgeous slope of phlox - just breathtaking! If they can do it and I can't, well, it's time to try something else, lol!

I have some Silver Mound Artemesia, and today I was toying with the idea of alternating it with my phlox...

There is some space in between the phlox, although it doesn't seem so in the pic, there is a two foot gap where I planted the campanula, plus the retaining wall curves around and there is more space there as well. What I want is something similar to the phlox with a trailing habit that flowers in the summer.
