red berries on small deciduous tree, gray & white trunk

This small decicuous tree has bright red berries here in USDA plant zone 7 on November 8th. The trunk has an attractive gray & white bark. The edge of the leaf which is approx 2 inch long has a very slight tooth edge. I don't think it is an Indian cherry since it has berries earlier in the fall. Plus an Indian cherry doesn't have bark as colorful. Plus the berries aren't a sweat as an Indian cherry. I didn't notice it when it was in bloom.
