tree seen in southern california

there is a tree i often see in So. Cal. often planted in islands in parking lots. there are some in balboa park. it is a mid-size tree with structure similar to a locust. the leaves are extremely palmate, almost fern-like. the flat seed pods are about silver dollar sized and golden brown and look a bit like dried orange peels. the pods contain disc shaped seeds similar to an elm and are easily germinated. sometimes used in bonsai in the literati style.

what are they?

anyone have some fresh viable seeds they can send?
