How long is this sale for? I was going to wait till around the middle of April before I could get one so that I could pay cash, but for that price I can always pull out the dreaded credit card.

Not sure how long the GH is on sale but if you use your card it will be several weeks before you would have to pay.

Perhaps if you had squared the frame to start with the doors would have worked. I read all this drama over the doors mine is in it's 4th season and the doors work fine. In the spring I can crack the doors and let in some cool air and they will stay in place can't do that with a swinging door a gust of wind would whip it around into the GH and tear something up. I mention to my wife that many people was installing swinging doors and she said I don't want them the ones we have work fine so if the little woman can slide them and no reason she can't they slide real easy. In my opinion the sliding doors are MUCH better than a swinging door that must remain latched or it will be tore off by the wind.

(Folks: dwestcotttt03 and I have already talked by email directly, but I'm also replying here, in case it's helpful to anyone else down the road, purchasing a used Harbor Freight greenhouse.) I haven't disassembled one yet, so I was hoping we might get somebody with more transport experience to post here. I'm really not sure if you'll be able to completely avoid dismantling the walls or not; my approach would be to remove the panels, and then "feel my way" through the dismantling process, to see what's possible. A few "heads up" comments: You might be surprised that the aluminum in these kits is softer (easier to bend) than some aluminum. For example, the aluminum stock sold at the box stores is harder than the kit material. So, I think the larger the pieces you try to move intact, the easier it might be to accidentally bend some of the components. Just mentioning this so you can watch for it, if trying to move large sections. I'd remove the polycarbonate panels to avoid damage. Since the greenhouse is used, it may have been exposed to enough sun (depending on the age and shadecloth use) for the panels to have lost some of their original flexibility. Over time, my panels have become more yellowed and brittle, requiring eventual replacement, and they are easier to crack or break when they become a little brittle. Hopefully the previous owners have not caulked the panels in place. (I have not, but some folks do, to secure the panels.) If they are just secured with the Harbor Freight spring clips, you can pop the clips out out of the track by sticking a screwdriver under either the top or bottom “foot” of the clip, to pry it out of the track, and then the clip usually falls right out. If the previous owner has screwed the panels into the aluminum frame (which I highly recommend, when you reassemble) then I’d mark each panel with a black Sharpie pen, and number them, so you can put them back in the same position. This will save you having to redrill the holes to reattach the panel screws, without having to play musical chairs later, to see what panel goes where. I unscrew and screw my own panels all the time, using the same screw hole in the framework, no problem. Harbor Freight parts come with little sticky paper round labels, with parts numbers. Many folks just leave them on, which would be a help to you. If not, you could number the aluminum parts with a Sharpie marker, to make some kind of reference (roof, door, back brace, etc.) Or, if you are methodical, you could number them by using the part numbers shown in the Harbor Freight manual. That would probably be my approach, if I was brand new to the Harbor Freight greenhouse. (Then again, I’m rather a hopeless detail wacko.) A bit of lacquer thinner would remove any of your marks on the aluminum later. If the previous owners did not keep the manual, you can download a 10x12 manual from the Harbor Freight website. Harbor Freight has revised the manual several times. A kind HFGH owner has just alerted me today that the newest manual, shipping with new kits, is different from the downloadable PDF manual on the Harbor Freight website. Apparently Harbor Freight hasn't updated their website yet, and the newest kits even have some new parts that the old kits didn't have. However, I'm guessing the current PDF manual should work for you, since your greenhouse is used, and any changes are hopefully pretty minimal. Keep track of all the bolts. They are perhaps a tad soft (not the greatest quality) but the heads are specially shaped to slide in a grove in the wall and roof studs. It’s a little hard to buy regular bolts that will fit in the channel as well as these, if you lose or damage them. You can probably order them from Harbor Freight, but I don’t know how quickly they ship these. And, as we discussed, photos before or during the dis-assembly process are a great idea. Good morning Jeymac, Iâve been happy with the solution of putting wood framing along the inside of the base channel. I do think it strengthens it somewhat (prevents the c-shaped channel from flexing as easily.) Also after years of living with the greenhouse, I think the bottom of that channel would have been a great catch place for bits of gravel, plant leaves, dust, bugs, and other greenhouse debris. Having the wood there makes it look cleaner, and it really does stay a bit cleaner too. Iâm sure my wood does not look as pristine as it did, years ago, after I slobbered water all over the benches, week in and week out. But I never notice it, back there under the benches. Neither my husband or I can recall what Gardenerwantabeâs base braces looked like, although I bet at the time we looked at those photos and considered that. We must have decided they were not critical, along with the wood we used, as we are both drawing a blank on what his braces were. I guess we are getting old? I donât really have any knowledge of anyone else using braces on their base to strengthen it, so I donât think itâs a deal breaker, but I do understand the wisdom of thinking through any options for adding strength as you go. I donât have a great source of larger photos for the details of joining two greenhouses together, although I try to watch for that on the web, since the question of joining two greenhouses comes up fairly often. There have been a few folks who have mentioned doing this on GardenWeb, but I donât think any have posted step by step close up shots. Funnylady has been super nice when we have emailed, and I hope she can give you more specific answers. If you folks do join two together, you might consider doing a thread on Gardenweb with the nitty gritty details of how you joined them....Iâll bet others would thank you, down the road! So many times, I find that everybody who builds one of these seems to find their own way for resolving some of these questions. I know we did, too; we researched everything we could ahead of time, but often ended up finding our own solution, based what seemed practical at that moment...what we could find in the garage to use...and/or what we could find in the aisles of Lowes. In other words, on most any of these modifications, youâll find there is more than one way to skin the cat...and the way you find may well be a better solution than what other folks have done. I didnât make any notes about the length of the bolts we used with the EMT, but since the EMT is Â¾â, weâre guessing maybe 1 Â¼â bolts. Just enough to slip through the drilled EMT and add a washer and nut. Best of luck with your build!

rjinga, I took some pics for ya to help out. first this is from the outside looking up to the back left side(right form the outside lol) of the PC panals the bolt heads are hiden behind the tape tho but you can see everythingis sitting flush This pic is from the inside looking up to the back left corner. as long as you put your bolt and nut on the top holes of part #49 an the top hole of the corner post befor you add side wall diagnial part #80 everything will fit nice. By the way I added both parts 79 and 80 to my corner post and it really stiffened up the frame where I din't have to worie about the winds 10 - 20 mph for the next 2 days before I could get back to working on it Here is the camera up tight to the back panal looking up to the gutter and part #80 to the left. On the right side of the corner post you can see my weatherstriping and how there is no buldge. If I had turned that nut and bolt arround like you have in your 4th and 5th pics then it would be sticking out past the PC panal. I hope this helped. JBa3Fan ..... If you're really interested in this, I'd suggest you just do it now. I've bought things from Harbor Freight for a number of years, and sometimes they run out of sale-priced items.

OK, I'm going down Saturday to try and order the unit. Can't seem to find it on sale on the net, and the catalog 578-B that I have, list it as $629.00. I don't know exactly what it's going to cost, but hey, its cheaper than the list price and a whole lot cheaper that anything else out there.
Called the store, and the lady didn't know anything about an 15% coupon.

Has anyone here put a 10 X 12 up lately, and have any comments they would care to make on that aspect of them? There have been so many posts regarding difficulties, I'm concerned that if I bought one, it would never get built.

I'm asking because at that price I would buy one, but not if it's a problem to erect. It would not be used as a GH, so all I would need is to get it up: no fans, heaters, etc.

It is not uncommon for employees to know nothing.
The flyer that I have is 137-1B and they where to be delivered by 3-22-07
!5% coupon is on the back and good till 4-9-07 on one item only.
On page 4 of the same flyer is the GH regular price $719.99 sale price $599.99 then 15% off of that with the coupon = 509.99
If you don't get a flyer you should find one at your local store.

Oh, my. I would respectfully suggest that if you have read the many posts here, and still can't muster an opinion as to whether the HFGH is for you, then... perhaps it is not.

laserfan: I'm not interested in buying another GH, to use AS a GH. I'm exploring the possibility of using a reasonably innexpensive 10 X 12 polycarb GH as winter shelter for an 8 ft. diameter stock tank.

So no, I haven't read every post about the HFGH's.

My question was specific to the difficulty of ASSEMBLY, which seemed to be a strong issue last year, then less so as the year wore on, so I was hoping someone who had bought and assembled one very recently might have some new, hands on experience information to share.

I think that some would say it is easy and some will say it is difficult. It depends on your ability to build things.
While we have a lot of posts about the HFGH very little info about other brands.
I would guess that some of the others are not much easier to assemble.
In my opinion the modifications to the 10x12 HFGH are not optional it is mandatory but after they are done it is and outstanding good buy.
Only you can decide if it is for you or not.
Would I buy another one ???? Given the choice of paying $500 for the HFGH and do some extra work on it or spend $3000.00 for something the same size I would buy the HFGH in a New York minute.

Gardener: I have no ability to build things, but my husband does, and I'm a good helper. However he also hasn't much time to devote to yet another GH construction project, so if it could be erected in a few days, it would be fine.

Exactly what modifications are necessary? It would be in a spot totally sheltered from wind and again: it would NOT be used AS as a GH, only an enclosure.

I did a outline of what I did to mine a year ago and you can find it in the FAQ section.
Since then many have done the same thing.
Troykd did basically the same to his and he has an excellent site describing what he bought and the cost.
Below is a link to his site. After reading it you should know if you want to try it or not.
Whether you use it for a GH or not don't Mather you still need to do the modifications if you want it to survive a storm even in a sheltered area.
If you are not willing to do these mods then DO NOT BUY the HFGH
