Could it be 'Katherine Nuccio'? Is it an older plant? 'Katherine Nuccio' was apparently popular in Eastern NC in the past as I've seen it in a lot of older gardens. Honestly, a lot of camellias are difficult to i.d. based on only one bloom. Lots of cultivars have variable flowers. Just look at a few camellia galleries and compare specific cultivars and you'll see the variation.

The second picture looks like an amur maple, but the colouring on the first photo looks too magenta in tone. I have this maple, or at least what is left of it after the rabbits get after it every winter. It surely is a nice colour in the fall. ....if only I could get some upward growth...

Mirabilis jalapa/four o'clock

It's got a hole in the bottom, I just didn't have it on a saucer in this pic. And I made the mix. It's just potting soil, perlite, and crushed granite.
