New to greenhouse growing

I am new to greenhouse growing and hoping I do this right. So far so good. I am just tossing seeds in paper pots and covering them to see what grows and what doesn't. Many herbs, carrots, sweet peas, a couple tomatoes, broccoli, cukes, and lettuce have come up. I am also experimenting with aquaponics. I got the 6x8 Palram greenhouse for Christmas. What normally gets started around this time in a greenhouse in zone 7?

This is a better overall view of the structure. Pay no mind to the destroyed yard. It will be nice again one day haha.

You will need heat under them to get them started. Get to cold at night without heat. I use heat mats under my trays.

Thanks so much Kudzu9 I know that growing Tropicals in the frozen tundra of Massachusetts will be a bit expensive.Still, I believe I can find ways to cut down the costs of heating. From all the posts on this site, I believe going with the LP greenhouse heater is the way to go.I also know that adding bubble wrap to the interior will help. I have been reading with great interest about using black water filled containers to trap in some heat. My question is, does that work in a double poly wall hoop house? I can see that kind of set up in a glass or clear poly house, but will that work with a poly glazing that is translucent?

how many ppm of fertilizer and what kind are you using? What is the spacing of the plants, closer= taller, further= stockier. If you're not using fans, use them to keep good air circulation. If they're getting too tall, transplant them to larger containers and plant them in the bottom of the bigger container. Make sure you're not running them too wet, lean to the side of slight wilt before watering. That will keep the height down too. Heck, we grow ours under 30% shade. They turn out fine. It cuts the watering way down.

I was going to suggest the same thing about heat. I build a box to hold trays of seed starting mix and then heat it with a space heater. It helps to have enough light so that the sprouts know which way is up. The expensive professional germinating chambers are metal boxes with glass fronts.

I would like to heat it but as of right now it all seems to be working out. Everything has sprouted but it did snow last week which dropped the temp to 20 one night and a couple cukes died. Light hits the greenhouse about 9am and goes away in late evening. My worry is that summer will make it unusable :(

For the summer, you might look into shade paint. "Kool Ray" is the one brand I know of. It's a temporary white paint.
