Hi everybody. I originally posted this message to mudhouse's blog, not knowing how to post it here. But, now I do! So, if anyone gets this message twice, lo siento mucho. Anyway, here it is: I have a question about possible corrosion on my new, unassembled HFGH 10x12. The gravel has arrived, the foundation timbers are in place, and I'm ready to build the greenhouse. But, before I begin, I wonder if someone can enlighten me on potential electrical contact corrosion where (mudhouse's) steel "L" brackets connect the EMT to the frame, where the hold-downs meet the steel base, and where the studs also meet the base. Should I somehow insulate these contact points, perhaps with rubber? Is there actually a problem at these spots? Thanks so much. masscactus - ready to build

Sorry I didn't see your post, feisty! My internet connection at home is down, so I'm offline on the weekends. We finished the greenhouse this weekend and didn't have any problems from clipping 24/25 that I could tell. We did have a very annoying issue with one of the door frame pieces--I had to grind down the top end of one piece so that it would slide onto the track--it was about 1/16 inch too tall just behind the wheel, if that makes any sense, and it acted like a stop that prevented the door from going all the way onto the track. The only other issue we ran into was that my #60 pieces of polycarbonate were just a smidge too short, and wouldn't fit both under the crown and over the gutter, so I ended up shorting the tops just a little so it will hang over the gutter and using foil tape to cover the gap at the top. Anyone else have this problem? Still need to install my automatic vent openers and set up my benches, and DH needs to hook up the wiring (conduit is already run from the house), but it's usable now. We had a big rain this morning, but I didn't have a chance to check the GH and see how it fared before I left for work this morning. I did notice the floor was wet, but I had left the roof windows open. Leigh

Hello Dale, I'd also enjoy seeing photos of your greenhouse! Good heavens, 80mph gusts is a very impressive wind speed to survive. We have bad winds here, but I am a bit relieved that my 10x12 has not been tested to that degree yet! When I installed EMT into my HFGH, I flattened the ends with a hammer and drilled holes for the bolts which hold the walls to the track/framework at the top of the wall. Look closely at this early photo and you can see that there are 3 (2 visible in this shot) cross-braces. Also, I tapped small holes and installed #6 sheetmetal screws (stainless) which secure every wall panel so the wind does not blow them out. Similar to your area, we have fairly serious wind and snow in the winter.
