I wish I could send you some rain. It's been dry here recently, but I got .60" of rain yesterday and 1.00" so far today. I think Florida's rainy season should be starting soon, right? Indiana, like Tennessee, has a lot of wild growing Asimina triloba so, I'd think there'd be zebra swallowtails - A. triloba would be good planted under the filtered shade of her trees. Rue/Ruta graveolens for black and giant swallowtails, hoptree/Ptelea trifoliata for giant swallowtails, wild black cherry trees/Prunus serotina for tiger swallowtails and red-spotted purples, tulip tree/Liriodendron tulipifera for tiger swallowtails, dill, fennel and other related members of the carrot family for black swallowtails, sassafras/Sassafras albidum and/or spicebush/Lindera benzoin for spicebush swallowtails, common violets for northern type fritillaries, whatever type of milkweed grows best there for monarchs, cudweed and its relatives for American ladies, whatever type willow thrives best there for viceroys, and pipevines/Aristolochia macrophylla for pipevine swallowtails. For nectar, the list could be SO long - coneflowers, zinnias, butterfly bush, Mexican sunflowers, milkweeds, and numerous others would be good for her area. Sherry

I see no reason why you cant dig them up now and plant them all in pots RIGHT away. We do this in trade. If you can get as much as you can of the dirt with the roots without disturbing them then they wont need thier fans cut. If you cut the fans they will not bloom the next season and doing that often can kill the plant all together. I would use B1 when you do this to limit their shock and then you would have a better chance of blooms next year ok? Good luck in the move Toni

From my perspective living in NE FL and originally from Dallas you see some similiarities with pools. Pebble finish, shotcrete, spas, pavers, water features are very popular. Depending on if you have a house that will have a bug problem you may have to have a screen enclosure. When I first moved to FL I couldn't stand the screen rooms but if you have a lot of mosquitos, no-seeums, etc... than a screen room is a necessity. If you're building a pool and need a screen room expect an additional $12K+ added to the cost of it. You don't see alot of flagstone used as coping. I'm putting it on my pool but it's rare here in FL. Most everyone I know has a SWG. The costs are different throughout the state and I think the pools are more expensive in FL compared to TX. It seems like you get a lot bigger pool for less money in TX. Hope this helps with your concerns.

Thank you all for your comments. Please keep them coming! An update on my situation. Things are getting more confusing to say the least. SD has moved the date of her departure (to go to FL to live with BioDad) twice now. First the date was after Christmas day, now it is right after New Years so that she can spend New Years with her steady boyfriend. Obviously things are not, and never have been, oppressive to SD at our home. SD has developed her first real steady boyfriend, both 17 yr's old, and they see each other most every day. They have played by the rules and we basically like the young man. Yet, SD is still openly planning to move in with BioDad in FL. Leaving behind not only her friends, her mother and me, and now her first steady boyfriend of 3 months now. We just can't understand why SD is willing to leave so much behind to go live in FL where she will start over, mid-year in 11th grade, have to make new friends, just to get some big ticket toys. I am so disappointed in her decision. I do believe that she will move. BioDad has told SD that he is going to place her in a church group, force her to be active in his ("born again" style) church, and that he will allow her to live in the "private apartment mother-in-law suite" in his new "country club" style home. SD will atend the local public High School, and BioDad is supposedly promising a "white jeep" and a cell phone with unlimited minutes, new fancy bedroom furniture, a couch in her "apartment", etc. BioDad is also saying that he will "make her successful in school so that she doesn't just have to marry for money" Really! This is all so weird to us. We were active in a church (Methodist) and SD refused to go after she turned 15. Why in the world is SD willing to walk away from her life with us, and into this situation I describe in FL? And leave her boyfriend behind explaining to us "if it was meant to be, it will last." SD is definitely planning to move on Jan 3rd now, and the plans are all seemingly in motion. Funny thing is, SD is apparently not returning BioDad's phone calls very often. SD is still telling us she is definitely moving. What in the world do you think is going on here? Thanks for your ideas and insight!
