A surprising number of regular garden plants can be in the bog if their crown is kept an inch or two above the water. So I'd be looking at any native. Marsh mallow, Althaea, flowers all spring/summer/fall. Some can handle zone 3. There are many species and the root ball isn't that big so could be pulled. Although these get 6' they're fast growers so if you did bring them in you could cut them back. Canna is a fav of mine. They have to be pulled in winter in any pond, so no additional work for you. Even here in Phoenix they have to be pulled every year and divided or they don't look as nice. Calla Lily, same deal.

I would be very interested in these plants, unfortunately, I have very little to offer in exchange. I plan to collect seeds of Gaillardia Echinacea Purpurea Aclepias incarnata as soon as they are ripe. I'm hesitant to offer, because I'm not sure how to package them, or how to guarantee their quality (I've never traded before). I'm currently finishing up creating a bog to lead to my pond. If anyone is needing to divide or would like to send plants in exchange for postage, please email me. I currently need any marginals, but would be happy with just about anything, since about the only pond plants around here that you can buy are water lettuce, hyacinths, iris and lilies. I do have a few extra hyacinths that I could trade, but they are small. I might be able to do duckweed too, if you are in an area that it is legal (depending on how much my fish eat that is). Plant #1 looks to be cat-tail.It can grow pretty tall,if it is the common variety & not the dwarf.I have some that are probably 5ft high around my pond,so take that into consideration when you relocate it.I can't help with the second plant
