My goodness, this thread takes me back in time! Mighty_turf, I ended up not using a solar cover on my 10x12 HFGH (decided my climate really didn't require it) so I am no help on best places to purchase. I believe conventional wisdom is that most heat loss in a greenhouse occurs through the roof. If I were to purchase one I'd definitely cover the roof, and probably lap it down the sides a bit, depending on the size I ended up ordering. Hopefully others here will have more specifics for you. If not, I'd consider starting a new thread with your specific questions about solar pool covers, to get a few more eyeballs on your questions. (Sometimes newer threads get more attention...?) I covered just the north wall and a little down on each side wall. That was the largest cover I could get without paying freight charges. I put a layer of regular plastic inside on one sidewall that rans NorthEast. And I had already put a layer of plastic inside on the back North wall before I bought another solar cover for it. Yes, it did reduce the condensation. I don't remember having any at all on the ceiling. Just the front wall that was not covered. Look at 'My Page' to see how far the cover came down on the sides. The wind was a problem esp. in March. So it's a good idea to seal it tight so air doesn't get under it. I finally just took some very heavy rope and threw it over the ends and tied it down so wind couldn't get under it.

After looking at my situation I decided to just keep my pool cover on my green house all Summer. Here is why: The Green house temp was 120+ even with both exhaust fans going. Nothing can grow at that temp. I did figure out a way to role up one side of my green house to help cool it next summer. Plus I am thinking of adding a mist system to help cool it down. When it comes to Winter, I just purchase a pool cover that is 14x28 which is enough to cover both ends of the green house which was not covered last Winter. Since the Winters here in Ga. are mostly cloudy I will add some supplemental lighting so that the plants can grow in the winter. There are some HIGH Lumen CFL on the market at this time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hans

semo, I use the stick and like it ok - I'm not sure there's anything you can do with a solar cover to really make it a delight, but the splitting the cover and using the stick allows me to easily remove the cover by myself in under 5 minutes, and can deploy it by myself, though still easier to do with 1 other person, in about 5 minutes. I think the whole key is not trying to deal with it in one huge piece, but as 2 or 3 separate sections. I only use the cover March-May and Oct-Nov; just this past weekend I placed a couple of ladder hooks on the far side of the house, behind a fence, and stored the covers there until I need them again. Nobody hates the cover more than I do, but it works so darn well, I can't imagine not using it in those transitional months where the night temps really start to drop, but the kids still want to swim by day.
