Heirloom sent email message - sale on Austins. Went to the website - there are fourteen! Which one to add to my order to grow as large potted deck rose? Most fragrant, most disease resistant in no/low spray environment? And not William Shakespeare or Benjamin Britten. That leaves twelve!!! Can't buy twelve!!!

Hey Sunny:

I don't grow it myself but have heard that Happy Child is nice. I understand it is smallish.

Although not on the list of sale roses you may think about Tamora. Supposed to be pot-friendly.

just keep in mind that android tablets let you install the kindle app and the nook app so you can have all of those on one device. It really depends on your needs and wants as to what you get. the tablet with the best sound that I have owned was the vizio it had 3 speakers so no matter which direction you held it in you had stereo and the sound was fantastic. Wish more manufacturers would be more interested in the sound quality and take a lesson and put at least 3 or 4 speakers on them. I often struggle hearing with the one small speaker especially on my phone. I love love love my new Asus transformer tf300 10" tablet with dock but it too could use some improvement in the sound and speaker department. My husband still absolutely loves his lookbook in fact he now has his and mine and I am trying to make him transition over to my Vizio tablet so he has more options and can do other things on it. He is fighting me he wants to stick with his lookbook he is not a fan of the touch screen he keeps touching things by accident then I hear swearing lol. He is not a good student is all I have to say LOL That lookbook is extremely light weight you will not likely find any tablet that is that light.

Glamis Castle and Happy Child are smaller Austin roses. Some people have had issues with disease with Glamis Castle, although mine is fine so far. I've also heard good things about Wisley. Why not just choose the one that appeals to you best appearance wise? You might also want to check helpmefindroses for individual characteristics.

Happy Child has large double pure yellow flowers but I don't get a lot of them. The bush grows to 2 feet in my garden. So far disease free with no dieback. Wisley I love, double fragrant flowers and tends to grow upright again no disease. Many of the sale roses tend to be the taller ones. Eglantyne gets a lot of praise on the forum.

Eglantyne is wonderful, that's one to add to a wish list.

I love the strong sweet rosey scent to this rose, and it's a great grower in a cold zone, lots of blooms.

However it might be too large for a pot.

Geoff Hamilton is a lovely rose, with a scent kind of like fresh strawberries. This might be more suitable for a pot.

Fair Bianca is a nice white. It's older but would make a good pot rose.

more temptation! yikes - I couldn't resist and ordered 3 of them - just when I'd promised dh I was done ordering for the year - oops - good thing he loves me :D I chose golden celebration, crocus rose, and mary magdalene - I was looking at size, form, color, and smell

I have Golden Celebration here in zone 3. My rose graft is buried deep, but regardless, I've found this rose to be one of the most winter hardy tender roses I have. Mine gets to be about 2 1/2 feet tall and wide. I just ADORE this rose. Great choice!

I'm not sure you want Glamis Castle. I made the mistake of getting it and I think it is a BS castle.
Lillian Austin, Jude the Obscure, those two are great for me here. Golden Celebration has so me BS, but it's worth it to me.
