Your blueberry can take a bit of afternoon shade with no problem. Production is better when given some good sunlight, but they don't need the blistering afternoon heat. Rapheolepis is a full sun plant, no question. That's where it thrives! Full sun, hot and humid climates, little extra watering. If this plant is grown in a shadier location, you are bound to see some of the very common leaf spot diseases, as well as lanky growth and poor flowering. Take it from me. I lived in SC zone 8b, where Rapheopepis was a very commonly used plant in parking lots, medians, malls, and full sun foundation plantings. Except where the deer were known to browse, lol. Your zone 7 location might be a little borderline (cold) for them.

Yes, cutting them back after blooming every year or 2 will help thicken them up. Every 5 years or so I prune mine back to almost nothing and let them regrow, mainly because they are too wide for where they are and overgrow a sidewalk. They grow back really dense, as long as I prune out many of the tallest branches every year. They are also susceptible to a fungus (same one photinias get) that causes leaves to drop off, so you might check for black spots on the leaves and treat with a fungicide if you see any leaf issues.

you haven't done anything bad to your kitchen; it's fine you did something to your house though: you didn't consider your flooring when choosing a stone for the countertops. The countertops are cool(and backsplash too); the flooring is very warm next to them here lies the main problem as I see it wall paint, you need to change it, of course. yet it's much easier but. I do believe. That wall paint can be found. That will go more or less with both your kitchen, new Quartz and all, and your flooring. I'd go on a site like Pinterest (which I prefer to Houzz because one can see and save things that are not about decor only..nature, city, art, movie sets, birds, flowers, people, photography, you name it..can be interiors too of course, but one's not limited by interiors, as their inspirations) and I'll try and find pictures.,of whatever it might be..that contain your colors. And see what else is in them. and how they work together. and whether can be translated to your space. My intuition tells me some whites...or blues..I'd say warmer blues but your backsplash is in a way here, frankly. You can decide to change it, will be a bit easier to find the color of paint, but it'sa hassle and cost of course. Say you find such paint. Will be a process of trial and error. which it often is. Then you use furnishings or/and accessories to tie things even more. You style. Lots of things can be taken care of with styling. You repeat cerain colors, you carry them to other spaces, different proportions..can be fabrics, finishes, many things. I love your art, your ostrich eggs..something tells me they are hiding these hints, these clues within...they're very inspirational. Don't forget them when you look for your inspiration, that's what I'm trying to say.
