Anybody use pH Meters to Test Soil

raspberryflyer

I would like to be able to read my soil's pH anytime I want to, since I add compost or soil amendments as much as two or three times a year. I want to be able to read it right now, not get a measurement a few weeks from now when the state extension service finally gets the soil test results back to me.

Have any of you used a pH meter in your soil?

If so, what can you tell me that might help me to know what to buy and/or how to use them?

Thanks in advance.
