Slow in loading?

Hi guys and gals,

my question has nothing to do w. soil or compost. It's just that this forum is the most active one I know of.

Since the web page design has been changed today, my computer is loading it very very slow. Is it just my computer or anybody else encountered this problem too?

There is also this ad, always popping up in the middle of the page. Most annoying.

There's a problem with at least one of the GW servers. The graphics.gardenweb.com server seems to be hanging. The letters.gardenweb.com server also seems to be having problems (the "contact us" link doesn't work).

I left a comment at the main ivillage.com site and have pointed graphics.gardenweb.com to localhost until they get it corrected.

You may need to do minor tweaking to your PC. go to start/control panel/internet option/browsing history and delete temperary files. While you are there in internet options, pages will load faster by resetting your temp files (General/browser history/settings and change disk space between 50MB upto 250MB). Otherwise the server maybe a little slow.

I have AOL and GW forums are slow as molassess again got here via Explorer and it is zipping along. Every once in a while things slow down

IE8 Slow Loading

Ya that'd be easy enough but I'm tired of messing with it. Still, the IE8 works beautifully with the firewalls ZA and OA disabled. There must be some interaction there planned or otherwise. I installed the SlimJIm Browser or whatever it is which looks like its just an IE8 clone sort of. Easier to configure. Tho it's fast it is 1-2 seconds slower than FF7, Iron and google on my comp.

It's been happening to me off and on the past few days. Also started seeing ads again out of the blue. Had to log in the other day and when I did the in-text links were back. Quickly scrambled to disable those irritating things!

Actually, I think the more reports they get, the more likely they'll be to respond. Even if you only report that the "contact us" page is down and that GW pages are slow to load, if they get lots of complaints and one explanation, they might pay more attention to me.

Since the GW contact us page is down, you'll need to go to the parent ivillage page and contact them from there.
