Name That Plant!

Requesting Idenfication of the following plants

I thought I have 9 sunflowers growing everywhere, but apparently I am wrong as time goes by...it turned into something else.

May I request some identification of the following plants?

A pot with some things growing out but no idea what

Oh, and an orchid...need to know the genus. It blooms rarely because I don't know how to care it. I have a book of orchids, but I just want a confirmation before I start changing the medium (currently just charcoal). And also tips on changing medium succesfully...

Your orchid looks like a Cattleya hybrid, but I do not know which one.

The first plant looks to be a squash.

The pot full of stuff looks to have a tomato and some member of the Cucurbitaceae family [squash, melon, cucumbers, and so on]. I can't tell from the seedling leaves what they are exactly. Probably squash, if I had to guess.

The other plant in the left hand side of the pot I can't see very well so I don't know.

Ah, thank you so much! And yes, that combination is so effective. I'd love to replicate that entire dry bed somehow, but it seems really daunting to me. It's much larger than just this little piece, and the truncated photograph doesn't do it justice.

Thank you so much for the replies! Ben, I looked up the Aeonium Tabuliforme and saw that it typically grows pretty flat. Mine forms a nice cup shape on top. Is this something that will change as it grows? Aloe strata hybrid it is! Might have to wait for the Pachypodium to mature a little more for a definitive answer, both species look a lot alike when young -Cari

What kind of squash? I've not seen a squash with such beautiful leaves before.

Maybe i'll keep the tomato this time... things were getting very crowded.

As for the orchid, do I keep the charcoal or throw it out if I want to change the medium?

The first one may be a zucchini...they usually have that silvery mottling on the leaves, which I also find very pretty.

As far as what squash, dunno. I've had different squash have patterned leaves over the years but I have not noted which varieties. What kind of seeds did you plant? Pumpkin? Zucchini? Or??

You could try asking in pumpkins, squash & gourds forum. But the best bet would see what kind of fruit it produces if you can not recall what kind of seeds you planted.

They sprouted from my compost and then I planted them in pots, thinking they're sunflowers. However, as you can see it didn't turn out so.
