Best place to buy seeds online?
Comments (55)This is the first time I got seeds from the USA. The experience is good and bad. I am happy that there was no duty on a purchase of USD 8.70. I got five packages of seeds. The shipping costs was $5.93, averaging $2.9 per package including one of the seeds I could not find in any online stores in Canada. But I have learned that if one of the seeds is on back order, the order would not be sent until all seeds are in. When I cancelled the back order seeds, the operator promised to replace the back order seeds with another one which is at a lower price than the two combined. However, when I called again later on I was told that it was not included in the shipment because they could not add seeds to an existing order. When I asked to speak to a manager two times, nobody ever called me back. The name of this company is Park Seed. So if you want to order anything from them, please speak to a person by phone instead of doing it online to make sure that all the seeds you want is already in its warehouse so that you can make an order that is good for the shipping cost and below $20 to avoid complication in duty charge also....See MoreCheapest place to buy seeds and plants online?
Comments (3)Try valueseeds for inexpensive seeds. It is the clearance outlet for T&M. Shipping is a flat fee of $1.99 and all seeds are .99 cents or less. The seeds are sent without the outside packet so you have to do some work in getting the instructions for planting and growing but it is all found on the website. They list new seeds a couple of times a year so you have to keep an eye out for the new listings. Some sought after items sell out almost overnight. Shipping is quick and well done. spiderwoman...See Morewhere is the best place to buy seeds online?
Comments (2)Exotic and tropical seeds are unique so the folks over on the Tropical forum might know the sources best. And many of the different exotics have their own forum too so check them out by plant name you are interested in. Oh and check out the Garden Baazar here too as many of the seed vendors have links and info posted there. Few of the more common seed vendors that often get discussed here and on the Rate & Review Vendors forum (check it out for ones to avoid) carry unusual seeds because of the low demand but one I have dealt with is http://www.rarexoticseeds.com Another is http://www.seedman.com/ I have had no problems with either of them in the past. It just all depends on what specific seeds you are looking for as some seed vendors are highly specialized. ;) Dave...See MoreGood places to buy non-hybrid seeds
Comments (17)After spending $3-5 each for a few packets of Territorial Seed Co. seeds at my local TruValue hardware store, I then went to look on ebay and sure enough there are lots of heirloom and open pollenated seeds for sale there. I bought the rest of my seeds on auctions by GroCoSeeds and have had great success with the starts. I chose GroCoSeeds b/c they have LOTS of positive feedback and repeat business from previous years. They are also close to where I live in Seattle (they're in Oregon) so my seeds arrived quickly and many are good plants for the Maritime Northwest where I live. You may want to search for heirloom seeds and then sort by location (I said within 200 miles of my zip code). A tip, if you get outbid on an auction for some seeds from GroCoSeeds, don't be tempted to pay more for the item and bid again, because they give you an opportunity to add any of their seeds to your cart after you purchase through their payment system (they use a checkout system that allows you to add items before you pay through PayPal). I saw that I had overpaid for a couple of items that I bid up during an auction, and I could have saved money by buying it during the checkout process. On that note, if you're in a hurry, you could just buy 1 item from GroCoSeeds and then buy the rest of your seeds during the check out, I guess! The seller is helpful and does answer his ebay messages quickly. Good luck! Deb Here is a link that might be useful: GroCoSeeds store on eBay...See Morelori_ny
