High pH, water hardness, and temperature

Hey everyone, I just filled up my pond two days ago(about 1200 gallons). It is lined with a EPDM liner. I tested the water today and it's really hard and very alkaline. I can't tell exactly how much because it was a color chart test.

What can I do to remedy my situation? I've read about adding peat moss to the skimmer. Over time will things equalize? Can i introduce plants or will this not help?

The temperature also bothers me, there are no plants or anything and there's full sun for about 2-3 hours in the afternoon, which drives the temperature up as high as the low 90s. If I established some plants would this help with the temperature?

Thanks for any advice and sorry for all the questions.
