Most rubber trees are grown in low light/bright light, I believe. They dont need any direct sun to flourish. Like most house plants, morning sun is tolerated well. I have known house plants (rubber trees) to tolerate dark corners and drought. My sister has a brown thumb. But she has had a rubber tree and a lemon-lime dracaena for a long time. She keeps her shades drawn for at least half the daylight hours, and waters occasionally. Im sure it could survive living with vampires. I know you could keep it alive. Ruellia ( Mexican Petunia )...Does it have purple or pink flowers that are very thin and delicate and tubular in shape? Can you see small nodules near the nodes or sections of the stem? If so then you def have a Ruellia. which by the way you can share or propagate by cutting at the stem nodes and sticking in dirt. :) Cheers

if you are growing trees in pots.. you can do a lot better with a potting media that holds less water ... less peat.. higher draining .... but i suspect you just stuck it in that little pot until you IDd it... ken
