Can't find 'Orange Surprise' HELP!!!

Does anyone know where I can find this rose? I've searched the web and can't find it anywhere. I saw it classified as a mini, but not sure. Please help!!

It is not listed on Helpmefind.com nor does it appear in the 2006 or 2007 issues of the Combined Rose List.

Do you know anything more about the rose?

Diane,

I don't know to much about this rose. I was out house hunting and the tag on the rose tree said rosa mini tree orange surprise. I found this on the web under the 2004 floribunda rose list ORANGE SURPRISE----------------------------------------------OB
---1988
Doesn't mean anything to me. Maybe you know.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I wish my rose blooms will be as prolific as the suggestions posted here! I'm afraid "Wild Fire" and "Dolly Parton" are too flashy for me. Benjamin Britten is quite pretty. It's not the kind of color I'm looking for but it brightens up the view without being over-the-top flashy or gaudy (what I call "harsh for the eyes"). Now about Fragrant Cloud, I read somewhere that it's not very vigorous, is that true?? Growquest has it on sale, only $9.99, I am very tempted. BTW Growquest is having a "clearance sale", the heavy discounts make it even harder for me to resist.

I found the Klaussner Urban Craftsman counter height dining set at Jordans Furniture. There are no pictures of the detail of the this table online but it has tons of natural colors and wood grain detail. Here is an example of the detail from a side table but it still doesn't do it justice. The pub table I saw had at least 20 different wood colors, from oranges, greens, browns and tans. As far as I know, that is the only place you can get it. My electrician has only seen it in bisque - so he was surprised when he heard that a person can even buy it in any other colors. We purchased ours from Task Lighting, and they had VERY good customer service. I ordered the wrong size, and they quickly sent out the correct size. I'll have to pay for shipping back the incorrect size, but they're waiving the restocking fee that most places charge.

ellendi - so I guess that could argue for greenish walls or beige-y cream walls. The paint could bring together either the tiles or the counters which are actually a very light tan. And the grout, which is "almond" looks much lighter than I wanted it to but it's another light cream factor. Hmmmm. I am going to the SW store on the way home. Will have them mix up a few and paint them on to see. Will try to take some photos. bluemoon - I like the Masada in that kitchen but I think I've burned myself on the orange and there's no going back. I feel completely decisionally incapacitated at this point. Too many decisions are not going right. I am going to spend triple the cost of that backsplash fixing that sticking-out edge and some bad grouting between the splash and the counter (I know, there's supposed to be siliconized caulk there, not grout. Told the tile guy that. He said it's ok 'cause the grout is polymerized. In either case he didn't do a good job with that line). What I do love so far is the counters, the sink (single bowl - would never go back), and the Kohler Karbon faucet (the most awesome faucet ever for a lot of reasons especially the ergonomics of washing dishes).

That list shows the ARS exhibition name for the rose is "Orange Surprise", it is classed by the ARS as an orange blend (OB) and it was introduced in 1988. But no hybridizer is listed, so that makes it difficult to trace.

I don't have a copy of Modern Roses XII, I hope that Phil Schorr sees this, he might be able to help. It isn't currently in commerce from the documents that I have.

This could be a misnomer or made up name. I bought a beautiful apricot from a rose nursery that called it Apricot Amour......I thought I had a hot new item. Come to find out.....the rose was Fragrant Apricot and there was no such rose as Apricot Amour. Helpmefind has most all the roses listed there. Check the search on helpmefind in orange, orange blends and see if you cant find an acceptable supstitute. There are lots of pretty ones and I am sure you will find one or some to your liking.

I bet looking at places like Home Depot you may find it. That's where mine came from. I bought a matched pair of mini tree roses last spring. The reason I bought this rose was it's amazing health and abundance of bloom.
