Being in pots over the winter can sometimes cause the leaves to not look quite the same shape and size as those in the ground, so it will be tough to ID these I think. The first one doesn't really look like Montana Aureomarginata to me. Just look at the vein spacing and you will see that they are different. The NOID is also a lot darker green and I don't recall MA having those red petioles. The color and shiny surface reminds me of Queen Josephine, but the shape isn't right. I don't have any guesses on the second one, but it doesn't look like Ooh La La to me. I've grown a lot of them and this really isn't the right color or pattern. Sorry I can't help more definitively. I think the first one MIGHT be So Sweet. I'm far from an expert here but it looks an awful lot like mine which is just blooming now and it has white fragrant blooms. That's my two cents and I'm sure many others will chime in too. Your garden looks nice and healthy.

Thanks - I'm trying to keep it warm enough through our early freeze for those buds to open. Aspen (Populus tremuloides) is not a good fit for north Texas, but Populus deltoides ssp (cottonwood) would be a possibility if leaves on the seedlings can be as rounded as in the second photo. Reminded me of Amelanchier... which would be another unlikely stretch here.
