Growitnow, I can't speak to the specifics of growing Platycodons, but I do grow seeds under lights for prolonged periods. You will need to provide greater root volume for your plants by having them in larger pots. You will need relatively bright lights. Some artificial wind from a fan or fans can make for healthier plants. Fungus gnats can become a problem (put a little Bacillus thuringiensis in your plant's water.) A buildup of urea and/or ammonium nitrogen can reach toxic levels. Nutrients with mostly, if not all, nitrate nitrogen are advisable. The calcium and possibly the magnesium in your growing mix will likely become depleted and some soluble calcium nitrate (from a hydroponics supplier) and a little magnesium sulfate (Epsom salts from a local drugstore) will be helpful. Be sure to dilute all soluble nutrients down to about half strength before applying them. MM

i know it definetly was not a pound of worms as he gave me it in a yogurt cup container and showed me the worms which were all at the bottom. as of now i mean it does not matter i just found it cheap of him to do something like that. he gave me enough to start my own population within a few months. atm i cannot do an outdoor bin mainly because i just don't have the amount of worms to do that size. like i said i got about 20 worms only majority of them are able to breed. i got 2 worm bins indoor 1 is basically for millipedes though i will have to remove that when my red worms reproduce and fill that bin up and as they produce more worms that is when i will make an outdoor bin. but then again chances are the heat will bake my worms i live in the city so their is not a lot of yards here or peoples yards are small. our yard is big but divided into sections all around the house and their is no shading besides the garage which is filled with a lot of junk and power tools and what not they are not mine so i cannot just throw it away but when my population grows i do plan on moving it outside somehow we got some long old coolers i can use that are white this can probably hold thousands

Sorry, maybe I'm missing it, but why are you determined to make more work for yourself, for no good reason? I have been an avid gardener for years. As I see it, these may be your best bets: 1. Shelve the attitude about your neighbor and go pay a visit. Their yard may not make the cover of House and Garden, but that doesn't mean they don't care about it just as much as you care about your space. People express their creativity in different ways and are dealing with who knows what these days; I'm sure you do stuff that others would mock, too. Ask about the plants. Maybe they would be willing to move them. It's better than just killing something that isn't yours because you don't like it. And honestly, if you sprayed Round-Up and killed something of mine (especially if it had sentimental value), our nice neighborly relations would definitely be strained, to say the least. There's no reason to cultivate strife, so just go over and be nice. There's a chance they didn't even know their plants were encroaching. 2. As someone else suggested (another gardener, probably) plant the visitors so you can cut down on weeding that area. You know, what you consider a weed (agapanthus) is a plant that I've seen cultivated (and coveted) in various spaces around Monet's garden at Giverny and a plant that people like me pay about $9 each for in catalogs. One person's weed is another person's treasure. It's all in how we view things. Irises are pretty, as are the "weeds" (which are probably mushy because they can't dry out, with being close to the dirt and bending under the fence). So why not create a garden out of them along the fenceline? You can get a few companion plants you like on the cheap, too. I bet it would be beautiful once you've finished.
