PITTOSPORUM: Tobira Variegated

JUST BOUGHT A HOME ON THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE NEAR THE COAST. THE SHRUBS WERE REALY BAD AND HAD ASIAN JASMINE PLANTED ALL AROUND THEM. I HAD SOMEONE WITH A TRACTOR DIG IT ALL UP. I WANT TO REPLANT WITH EASY TO MAINTAIN PLANTS BUT I DON'T MIND TRIMMING ONCE A YEAR OR SO. I WANT TO OUTLINE THE AREA WITH A BORDER OF LIRIOPE. PLANT A SHRUB NEXT TO THE HOUSE AND USE LANTANAS AS SOURCE OF COLOR. I REALY LIKE THE LOOK OF PITTOSPORUM. IS IT FAIRLY EASY TO KEEP TRIMMED TO A SIZE OF 2-3 FT. I REALLY LIKE THE VARIEGATED VARIETY. WHAT OTHER SHRUB WOULD GIVE ME THE SAME SORT OF LOOK THAT DOESN'T GROW TO 6-8 FT LIKR THE PITTOSPORUM. I ALSO LIKE THE LOOK OF PURPLE LOROPETALUM- WOULD IT WORK AS A SHRUB AGAINT THE FOUNDATION. THE BIG PROBLEM - THERE ARE TOO MANY CHOICES!!!!!!
