Hi, They are different. Trumpet vine is a native perennial vine while Cypress vine is an annual. There is also a slight difference between Cypress Vine and Cardinal Climber even though their names get interchanged often (even among the seed companies, reputable ones at that!). Both are annuals, flowers pretty much the same but the foliage is very different. I personally like the foliage of the Cardinal Climber better. I would do research on the perennial Trumpet Vine if you decide to go with that one. I had planned on growing it but upon further research, I was frightened off. I live in warm zone 8 and Trumpet vine sounded just a tad bit more of a hearty grower than what I am willing to deal with. But like I said, I'm in a much different growing zone than you. Hello! I am definatley interested in everything you have, especially all teh hibiscus. I can send atleast one if not 2 work out dvds, home made wooden butterflies, hummies, ect..and even customized homemade seed packets. Please let me know!

Great suggestion, Penny, but a lot will have to go right for that to happen. The pot is made, but needs to be bisque-fired, dipped in glaze, and then fired again at a higher temperature. If all goes well, the pot should be ready towards the end of May. Sometimes things get warped in firing, so I'm hoping it will fit into the corner of the house as I designed it to. If the pot survives, then the plants have to do well enough that I won't be ashamed to show them to all of you! Finally, I don't have a digital camera, so will have to take a conventional photo and scan it. I've never posted a picture before, so will have to figure out how to do it. That, of course, should be the least of my problems. There are so many "ifs!" I'm almost afraid to promise that I'll post a photo, because it feels sort of like counting my cardinal climbers before they've climbed! Jenny, you are right about their intolerance to wind and harsh conditions. I actually killed one of the younger ones because it got buffeted around too much sitting out on the porch roof, plus temperatures have been brutally cold for mid May, and I carelessly left it out when I should have brought it in. It was nowhere near freezing, and the plant was used to being outside in the sun, it just didn't like overnight temperatures in the upper 40's. The older plants are doing better, but are also sulking a bit. That's why I planted some backups last week, in case the remaining 3 don't do well.

OMG! I never thought there were so many of us out there! I thought I was alone with this bug. It started two years ago on a trip to Florida. I picked up seeds off a small palm at a factory outlet. Came home to my zone 5a and germinated the seeds. They all germinated and I became the father of 30 beautiful Washingtonia Filifera. I guess I must have caught the disease when I picked up the seeds. Well ever since then, It's been all downhill for me. Needless to say that this year's trip to Universal and Disney was nothing short of a carnage. I came home with 4 ziplock sandwich bags full of seeds. If your looking for a cure, don't go there, I tried to look away, to walk past the seed pods dangling in my face. They were all over; up down, right ,left. Dodging one seed made me trip on two. I was outnumbered. I so understand you, my fellow seed snatchers, when you talk about the looks, the stares, the comments and wise remarks we occasionally get. Well to all these people passing comments and judgment I say: Oh for God's sake. Get a life! It used to bother me but now I've accepted myself. I am SeedLova and I'm a seed snatcher please accept me in spite of what I am. If I never find a cure, then the world will only be a greener place. To all you fellow seed snatchers, I now officially join your ranks. PS. No joke, Univeral and Disney is like a candy store for a seen snatcher!
