7 weeks and counting of green water

I know everyone is going to say let it be and it will cycle itself out but i can't stand looking at the green water. I had clear water in the spring and around mid June it turned green and is still going strong. I add beneficial bacteria twice a week but it hasn't helped. My plants are going strong and my water lettuce and hyacinths have root tails a good 9-12 inches long. My pond is an Aquascapes system (roughtly 1,000 gallons and 24 inches deep) with a rock bottom and I'm wondering if I should buy a pond vaccum and see how much gunk I can get out or do I just leave it and wait until it clears. As a side note last year (my 1st) I would hose off the filter inside the skimmer box once every couple of weeks but this year it stays pretty clean and nothing is collecting in it which seems kind of strange as I would think the filter would be dirty from all the gunk in the pond. Am I wrong here? I need help before summer is gone.

Thanks,
