I've ordered a number of things from William Tricker's. I had one problem with them sending me the wrong lotus, but all the rest of their stuff is incredibly healthy and packed really well.
Is it possible your order got lost at the post office for awhile?

Yeah, I ordered from them this year and had the same experience. They charged five bucks for a frogbit, and they meant it: they sent one 2" frogbit with two leaves. It died. The parrot's feathers were a few sprigs each. I won't order from them again.

I ordered from Dragonfly for the first time this year. I bought a collection of floaters. The frogbit was small, but the rest were decent size and have taken off growing real well. My only problem was that I didn't get everything I ordered and had to contact them about it. They were very nice and apologetic and sent the rest of my order right away. I then ordered some trap door snails. They were alot bigger than I expected and 9 out of 10 were alive. Sorry you had problems with them. Did they agree to give you a refund?

I use Lilypons for mail order plants. All are big, ship quickly, wrapped in wet newspaper and plastic, good prices. One plant (a tropical waterlily) got lost in my pond and they sent me another even though it was not their fault. They have a store in Maryland and Texas. Their growing ponds are on site in Maryland as I've seen them and I presume the same for their Texas location. My waterlilies were huge, jumbo tubers with multiple growing tips with 10 or so large pads and even flower buds on them. of course, pads on plants don't last but new ones up in a few days after planting. Acorus and pickerel weed were also large healthy plants with an extensive root system.

That's too bad that you had trouble with them. I've been thinking about ordering from them myself.
I've pretty much stopped ordering plants online unless its from Lilypons or Ewaterlily or a couple of other forum members that I know have wonderful plants. This year I've bought plants at one of two local nurseries that carry water plants. This year they cut back on the size of their marginal plants and they are potted in the 4 inch pots for $5.99 each. You can't beat that! They are nice plants for that price so I've bought a bunch of them from them this year.
There was a thread on another forum recently where some folks were complaining about the size of plants they had received for their $$ from an online source.
Many plant growers sell what they consider a "marketable size" plant for mail order which can tend to be pretty small.
I've ordered from Aquatic Plant Depot and you get really small plants but everything I've ordered from them took off growing.
I hope you can get a refund for your dead plants.

I got an E-mail from them this morning saying that they are going to refund my money for the dead plants and that they were very sorry. I am happy that I will be getting my money back:) I think I am going to try William Tricker's and see what they have!!

I have ordered from Dragonfly Aquatics twice this year. I ordered two lotus tubers that arrived with green leaves emerging and they are now thriving in my pond, I have failed to get them started in the past. I then ordered a tropical nightbloomer, hardy lily, several bog plants and tadpoles. The lilies came with nice size tubers and buds on the plants. Both are growing nicely. The bog plants were nice size and since I have transplanted into larger containers are spreading out nicely. I did have a problem with the tadpoles however, some did not survive the trip. I contacted customer support, they were polite and replaced the tadpoles promptly. The weather has been extremely hot as of late, perhaps your order was delayed in transit. You were reimbursed, so what's all the bad rap about?

My order was not delayed..it arrived in a day and a half. I did not give them a bad rap, I simply stated what I received. Then after they gave me a refund I posted that as well, to let everyone know that they did do the right thing, So if people wanted to order from there, they knew they would be treated right if they were not happy and the plants were dying. Not sure how that's a bad rap????
