Looks great! Can we get a better look at the blooms? I am looking for a stock tank for the same purpose, but I am going to leave mine above ground (yours looks great sunk, I am just tired of diggin ponds LOL)...

Wow.. love the look of your lily pond, and the blooms are to die for.. I am all new to the lilies i have several babies the biggest has two leaves about the size of a silver dollar and the smallest has leaves about as big as a pinky nail.. don't figure i will see blooms for a year or so.. I just have to look at yours and drool

catfishsam, you might remember I started a thread about a pond with no pump/filter. I have a question for you. We won't be digging our pond until next month, but a friend has given me a huge chunk of water lily (with some lotus and anacharis all mixed in. What's the best way to hold this over for a month so it will remain healthy? Thanks in advance!

Great blooms catfish, and I LOVE your stock tank above ground. I see the clawfoot bathtub pond in the background also- I have that already, now just need a stock tank :-P Never enough room for lilies.... May I ask what zone you are in, and how do you overwinter your hardy lilies? I leave mine in the pond lowered to the bottom, but assume they would freeze and die here in z6 in an above ground stock tank? And I don't think I could fit another stock tank's worth of lilies into the pond for winter LOL. Thanks and again- great pics! mybusyfamily, even small waterlily plants will grow quickly. You should have some blooms this summer.

Pam, about any container large enough should work fine. You could get one of those half barrels to use or even a childs wadding pool would work temporarily.

I pot my waterlilies up in dishpans that I buy for about $1 a piece. I use soil from my garden and put gravel on the top of the soil.

I used to fertilize them every month, but I stopped doing that since I get plenty of blooms anyway.

Joey, I live in Colorado zone 5. My waterlilies stay in the pond all year. I don't actually have the raised pond anymore since I sunk it in the ground. When I used it raised for a couple of winters I just kept a stock tank heater in it and the waterlilies did fine.

Your bathtub looks great. What is that vine that is hanging down the side of the tub?

Creeping jenny....I just have it growing in my stream this year. The only thing I have in the tub this year are lilies- and lots of them!!! That bathtub is full up with lilies, which is why I am looking for a stock tank. I didn't realize that was the same stock tank in both of your pictures- I thought you had two LOL. Sounds like a stock tank heater is the way to go though. Thanks!

Catfish, what is that light pink lily? The first picture. Looks a lot like the Pink Grapefruit. I have that one and I think it is one of the prettiest and most prolific lilies I have had. Glenda

Glenda, I don't have any Pink Grapefruit, but I can't remember why one it is.

I have three small liner ponds for waterlilies. I put dirt on top of the liner and planted right into it. I posted multiple photos on the thread pfmastin started about ponds with no filters.

Mine are crystal clear once you move the duckweed and lily pads out of the way. Basically no maintenance.

I have Helvola, Joanne Pring, Chrysantha, Little Sue, Mary Patricia, Perry's Baby Red, Hermine and Charlie's Choice planted in them.

Glenda- I love the pink grapefruit bloom! This is my first year with Pink grapefruit and mine hasn't bloomed yet- looks like it will be a pretty one when it does though :-)

Buyorsell- How does Charlie's choice do for you? That is one on my "wanted" list ;-) Just ordered Joanne Pring from Kat and should get it next week, and just got Little Sue in the mail from Benjie this week (yes I am going crazy with my waterlily addiction this year!). Joey..Are you locating the picture you want to send on your photobucket, going to the 2nd (middle) line under the picture, highlight and copy it. Then go back to the forum under the topic you want to send it to and right click in the message box, and click paste. You will get some gobbledegook, but when you preview it, you should see the picture. When you are ready with your text or whatever you can submit it. Glenda

Please excuse the barging in...this is for Joeyb5980...I use photobucket and I thought I had been using the IMG gobbledygook, too...but last time I used it I had to use the HTML tag and that worked. See if it works for you. Again, please forgive my barging in.

No problem Pam- I welcome all help and suggestions :-) I tried that, but it doesn't show up in the preview that way either... Thanks for the suggestion though. I thought maybe they were too large, and tried resizing them, but that didn't make a difference either. I don't know what is going on- I have posted pics on here before and it worked just fine :-/

For some reason, your album is only showing 2 link boxes, Joey (the HTML one seems to be missing). Maybe there's a setting on there that can be adjusted. I'm not familiar with PB, but I'm sure others will chime in.

I love all the lily ponds. Here is mine. When I divided the lilies in my large above ground tank in the spring I hated to trash all the extras...so. If they should freeze I'm sure I'll have enough from the other tank to start all over again.

I used 100 watt deicers in all three of my other tanks last winter with their pumps running. When the ice melted away from the sides Hubby would break it up and toss it out and refill the tanks.

11 today, but you can't see all of them in this picture because of the rocks and marginals. My Blue Smoke Tropical is going to bloom in a couple of days. Wasn't sure about it because I left it out in the pond all winter on the shelf of the pond. Didn't know I wasn't supposed to. Glenda

Did you download your pictures to photobucket? After you have downloaded them. Go to the HTML line under the photo, it should be 3rd line, highlihgt and copy it. Then go to the forum, locate the thread you want to put it in: paste your photo and you will see several lines of gobbledegook. Preview and you should see your photo. Then in the correction space add your text. When you have it like you want it just submit. Glenda

Wouldn't be much help there. My laptop has a port that I just insert my camera card into and it does every thing automatically. Just click where and when it say's to click. My camera came with a cord to plug into the camera and the other end into the UB Port on the computer. It was really simple. I don't know much about computers, except that all can be different.
