Hi Rosebuddy!! I would love to see a picture of your Palm in bloom!! We love to seen such healthy palms/plants like that and i will say again how impressed i am to see a beauty like yours!! Rina is correct about air layering when it does get to tall, but your tree looks so good right now that i wouldn't do anything to it. When it gets to tall for your house, like Rina's, then there is the next step. Rina... I can't believe you have had your palm for 43 years.. How Awesome is that? I have loved palms for many years now and the oldest potted ones are about 15 years old and the ones in ground are about 20 years old. Yeah, it looks like Yucca, heck who knows, it may even be Yucca. I thought it was odd that it was so low to the ground there. I had seen other plants like it in other yards that were taller and just more tree-like in shape. I checked my photo collection just now and I didn't get any other photos of it when I was there unfortunately. I didn't think it was Adams Needle (Yucca filimentosa), that is around here quite common. But yeah, the way those other plants on the ground are growing there with it in that photo it really does look a lot like Yucca. And it may be Yucca. I thought I was getting a photo of the interesting Palm tree there, but its possible that the one in the photo that I got is not it. I'm trying to come up with an interesting landscaping plan for my brother there in Mesquite, TX. He has a historic home built in 1890 and a little land with it and it would be so neat if I could get some real interesting landscaping going there for him and that house. Will

jaxboro,,, I actually got it off ebay. Im pretty sure they are still being sold (only got it for about 4 or 5 dollars w/o including shipping). If you want to know the sellers name I can tell you. I hope your palm gets some growth soon. As long as its condition begins to improve, there is lots of hope. Im sure by now the weather is getting pretty warm down there so I guess if any new growth is coming, it will be soon. I wish you luck!

Thanks yall...its all fun. Not really work when you enjoy it. Its all a work in progress. prinbama--- I picked these bottles up at one of those little veggy markets that pop up off the side of the road. We have a few around here and I watch them bring the palms in during the spring. Most of the time they dont sell them, then I go in and offer cash and get a good deal. I have missed a few plants here and there that I wanted. This past year I found out that they are coming from south Florida from some growers down there. A man brings them up to AL in the spring to sell to these little side venders. So now instead of me buying from them, I am going straight to the source.
