HOUSEPLANTSHow to Grow Orchids Indoors
Orchids are the exotic aristocrats of the flower world and can make themselves comfortable in almost any home
Full StoryI have a Phal Dragons Charm '446' that has a keiki with two spikes.
This orchid has been a great bloomer and seems to be either in bloom or in spike. It has "air roots" coming out like a medusa on steroids. It is also in spike.
1) I need to at least up pot the main plant because the thing is about 10" tall and is listing. I need to put it in pot that has a bigger base and work on straighten it up. I should have done this a lot sooner, but it never wants to "rest". Am I correct in assuming that up potting won't harm the spikes.
2) I also need to do something with the Keiki. It has roots that are maybe 9-10" long and four leaves, a few of which are 4-5" long. Should I wait until it flowers out before I give it a "pot of its own"? I would hate to lose the spikes.
Advise Please!
Cheers,
Paul
