10'x10' Goldfish Pond Design w/ Bog Filter. Please advise,

I have a question for those of you experienced with bog filters in Zone 5 Colorado or similar.

Before I start digging I want your expert critique.

I plan on digging a 10'x10'x3' goldfish pond (2000 gal)in almost full sun. I would like to avoid using store-bought filtration by building a 4'x6'x1' pea gravel bog filter flowing back into the pond through a weir. Is this feasible?

I plan on having 1 bunch of anacharis for each sq. ft. of surface area. I also plan on having 50% of the surface area covered in water lillys. I don't plan on having koi, only goldfish and maybe mosquito fish. I will not feed them AT ALL. They can eat the anacharis.

All plants in the bog will be bare-root and as many bare root plants as possible in the pond (not water lillies).

I believe I can achieve crystal clear water. Am I crazy?

How can I get crystal clear water? Is it possible without a different filtration plan?

Thanks, Jason in Colorado Springs, CO
