Mosquitoes like to breed in stagnant vs running water. So you can try to find out where they are breeding and eliminate that. If your pond is stagnant then you might add some more water movement. You can use some repellent when you are outdoors. My backyard has gnats! Ugh!!!!! They love the pond and filters.

lizm, do you have wet areas or areas of standing water - these will breed them in-a-heart-beat. I have koi in my ponds and we've been free of the pests, except, for the unusally wet season where we've had some wet areas and small pockets of standing water in the yard. I've had okay sucess with an electric fogger - fogging at early eveing when they are flying. I do have good running water in my ponds (small ponds a 1,000G and 85G) I like the fogger les likely to leave any residue on the ponds - a bit, but not like a hand sprayer

you need to search out sources of standing water. check your gutters, the saucers underneath your pots, neighbors' yards etc.

several of my neighbors' garages in my alley-way have gutters that fill with water....so i took pieces of mosquito dunks and put them in there. i just need to be vigilant and check them every so often

also, in the corners of my yard, i have small buckets of stagnant water that i also put mosquito dunks in. I am hoping that they will use the buckets to lay their eggs and have the larvae perish before becoming adults

They live in my flower beds. I don't have any trouble with the ponds since the fish eat them all. I can hardly stand to go out at in the yard lately. I'll check into the fogger. Where do you get those?

Just returned from Bed, Bath and Beyond with all sorts of products, some more evil than others.
