Name That Plant!

Huge Mystery Plant

I have a huge plant growing in my garden. I could have sworn I planted beets there, but this is definitely not a beet. It is well over 5' tall. I don't think it's a weed, because two are planted directly in my row lines. It has a thick, fuzzy stem with vertical stripes on it, and the leaves are a little fuzzy as well. I'm not sure if it's a vegetable, or what??? If anyone knows anything about it, please let me know! Thanks!

Even Giant Ragweed isn't that giant. Not sure what it is, though. Castor bean (Ricinis spp)? A mallow or hibiscus of some sort?

Now is probably later than most people would recommend to do a major rejuvenation. However, if it is way to big, I wouldn't hesitate to whack away on it. They are very durable, and I would suspect it should recover just fine. They bloom on new wood, so it should still bloom later this year.

Way too much advice is being offered here. Make sure your Peace Lily is within several feet of a bright window, but away from direct rays of the sun. Do NOT disturb the roots. Watch carefully and water it just as the leaves start to wilt just a bit. It is okay for it to sit in a bit of water for a day or so. A little observation will soon tell you about how often it need water before it wilts. ~Will

It's certainly tall, up to 15Ft. so I don't understand the comment
"isn't that giant".

Around here the leaves on Giant Ragweed don't get that big, is what I mean. And usually they're only three lobed, although I do see some pics when I image search that have more. What I really mean is it doesn't look like Giant Ragweed to me, but I can't put another name on it offhand.
