You picked this one up off a discount shelf. Its not been deprived of light evidently because its size of leaves speak well of its having received ample light. Its related to philodendron, can take pretty much any kind of light---the brighter it is, the bigger its leaves; standard potting mix and temperatures. Lower light causes the leaves to grow smaller and darker. It does like being given lots of water--in fact, can root and live in water for a long time. (just like phils) This plant does well when pruned back. It can increase its bushiness and does well in dish gardens and terrariums. Often seen in hanging pots.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've looked at quite a few pictures of 'erica', it is by far the closest match I've seen yet. The only differences are the flowers on mine were flat (not bell shaped) and the leaves/foliage were long and fine. Seems a strange thing to say but the whole plant looked kind of 'fluffy' from a distance with the flowers growing towards the middle/base with the long fine green foliage protruding above..???

Sue it's a form of Euphorbia. It's a tiny cultivar of Euphorbia leucocephala http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/fact-sheets/in-the-garden/flowering-plants-shrubs/euphorbia-leucocephala/#.VLoKL9KUddw and I think it's known in the trade as "Diamond Frost " or similar They can sucker, and they will die down over winter, when you can cut those canes right back and hopefully your plant will re-shoot in spring. Euphorbias like those have a white, latex-like sap which is an irritant so be careful handling it and keep kids and animals away if poss. Here is a link that might be useful: link

Jo, you have a memory device and that is to remember location. In the ground it is a simple thing, even if you resort to making a map of your garden. I have a way to remember with my highly "mobile" (pun!) container garden. First of all, each year I learn their locations by rambling through the garden regularly. I move things, but some you may note stay in approximately the same spot every year. I do not move them in the spring until after I check for labels, or any in a cluster must all have labels, then I can move em around. When I find some with no label, I identify the hosta nearby. Then I go to last year's photos to see which hostas appear in photos with the known name tags....and hopefully I can identify the nameless one this year from its picture last year. Since the group photos always have the neighbors named (I try very hard to do this before I post photos on Flickr or here), at least ONE photo should show my NOID with a valid name tag showing. It takes work to do this, but I (one of those who buy things for the name a LOT)enjoy knowing my plants by name. It is adding a layer of enjoyment to what I get out of my garden. However you like it, do it that way.
