Need ID-Wetland Plant

Looks like tarragon, smells like mint.

Horizontal trailing stem with white hair-like roots.

VERY fleshy water filled stem.

Smooth elongated leaves with no serration.

Help please!

Thank You, jaynine............It does look similar to the Pycanthemum tenuifolium, but with much softer, whiter, and fleshier stem. Thuis is definitely a water plant......As I remember, (My mom used to have the Mountaiun Mint), it's a stiff, upright plant that grew on dry land. This would not survive on dry land, and the stem is trailing......horizontal.

It looks familiar, but I don't know a name. I think I've seen it or a similar plant during my frequent soggy foot hikes in Michigan. I'll be watching for an ID.

Cara, you might look at Iris virginica, Acorus calamus (Maybe too tall), Juncus effusus, Eleocharis (Spike rush), Onochlea sensibilis (Sensitive fern), and a bunch of others, some of which will get you into true emergent vegetation, if that's what you seek. +oM
