spring greetings to the forum, not active lately

My apologies for a "double post", I accidentally posted this in the on topic area first... I posted here so it wouldn't get deleted before I could say hello.

I wanted to pop in and wish you all a wonderful rose growing season. and send (((ehugs))) to my rosy friends. For some reason, I can't post replies from my home computer in North Carolina. I can send emails through the site, though (confused). I recently updated the ol computer program from windows ME to XP, it goofed up alot of things I have to figure out. I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a computer bonehead. Ok, So I'm no computer guru ~ but I am a flower freak. That's more important around these parts :D

I'm on a road trip across a few states. I stumbled across a computer today, so I thought I'd see if I could post. I don't know what the problem is back in NC, but hopefully I'll figure it out. If not, I'll just bang my head again (no, silly, not on the desk, to the music I play while I'm planting... hahahaha)

p.s. Carla, I'll email you for help when I get back to Charlotte.

Holy crap, Di! It's YOU!!! I didn't even open this thread because I said to myself "Meh, I don't know a 'sun_n_surf_chaser,' so why would I care if he/she were greeting me from the beach!" Just goes to show that such small-minded thinking will only make me miss out! I confess I'm not shocked to learn your new neighborhood is not for you. I remember your house was differentiated because it was the one with a tree. Sounds like a pretty radical departure from what you had grown to love. Please give Mr. Di (and yourself) my condolences for the loss of Summer. I'm so happy to hear from you again. Please stick around and post often.

Dawn, our forum isn't very active. I think it was Helen, from our Forum that sent me to yours! I haven't taken a head count lately but probably not over 10 post and not always regularly. So I guess that makes me a permanent guest at yours! To answer your question, we have never had a get together since I have been posting there. Maybe we are too close to the big city of Springfield where there are lots of garden related things to go to.

Welcome to the group! I, too, love this place -- have been on GW for probably 10 years or more (sometimes I lurk, others I'm more active). My favorite threads are the ones dealing with unconventional, small, and restricted spaces. I bet you'll get some great ideas for your space. Try and stay open-minded and thick-skinned ;-)
