I had to try this forum because I have no idea what this plant is. I've also posted this in perennials.

I grew it from seed (stolen seed from a garden several streets over, don't remember which, don't know the gardener...)last year--ie winter sown early 2009, planted it out that spring, and all it did all year was grow leaves. It was pretty much evergreen all winter ( I live in Coastal BC, so we don't have harsh winters, and this one was particularly not harsh).

Now it's got this initially-intriguing, but subsequently-boring flower stalks, with tiny (1/2") creamy flowers; as buds they are wound up with a fine brown stripe. The whole thing with flower stalk is about 20"-24" tall. They're in lots of different areas, full sun, part shade, part sun, none in full shade.

Looking forward to an answer...
