algae/not green water

I have a small pond and 5 large goldfish. We are re-doing the waterfall and contemplating puting a biofilter at the top. I would love to have more fish. My water is clear and always has been. But I have ongoing string algae - the kind that clings. Pond is only 125 gallons but a fairly large waterfall, 600 gph submersible pump in one of those Lowes filter boxes with balls.

With this size pond and two large water lillies would you bother with a in ground bio filter? This is right at our entrance so it has to look good. The majority of it is in the shade so I cannot do a vegi filter at top.

TIA

Tina
