Zone 7 for Ashland is the Sunset Zone, of course, and not the USDA Zone. Leaves of plant shown are too pointed and glossy for the longtime Spring Bouquet* ('Compactum') sold by Monrovia, which I think of as the "true" item merely because that is what I saw under the name for decades. Until probably at least two other cultivars appeared on the local market in recent years, also offered as 'Compactum'. *The cultivar is 'Compactum', with Spring Bouquet being a selling name and not a cultivar name

It's a Campsis vine, and the berries are actually flower buds. Also commonly called trumpet vine. Campsis radicans.
