Do You Save Your Own Seed?

Among the challenges of gardening or farming is finding the varieties that produce well in your climate and soil. Then there is the resistance to pests and disease; genetic trait or acquired by exposure over years.

Of course I am speaking of heirloom varieties. When one is trialed over several years and found suitable, I am able to save the seeds from each planting. They adapt while acquiring horizontal resistances.

Do not exclude that I am feeding the soil and companion planting.

Many of my trial varieties are obtained by trading.

In fact, I tired of exploring the hybrids with diminished traits like taste, texture, maturity over weeks and ability to save seed.
