The one you need to pull out is the garlic mustard which is in the center top and lower left of the Pulmoneria picture and the upper left side of the Lupine picture. If left unattended, it will take over your garden. The Geranium is a keeper.

Cool - thanks - nice easy diagnostics are so valuable. My broms are doing ok at the moment - the biggest problem is getting hold of them. A Dyckia brevifolia (the yellow one) has re-rooted ok after a journey, D. remotiflora has a flower spike on the way and all the puyas in the front garden have survived a winter. T. burgeri has survived two winters outside now, unprotected except for the tree it hangs in (Trachycarpus). Best regards chris

Yup... Echinopsis. Not cold hardy at all. Down to 40 Degrees or a bit colder, but probably not all winter in Alabama... unless you put them somewhere protected, then maybe. If it gets down to freezing for too long (more than an hour or two) it will probably turn to mush. Do not water from late fall 'till spring and it will handle some colder temps better. It will get really shriveled but in spring it will plump back up and when it flowers you'll be thrilled!

Hi Pirate Girl! THANK you for your input - I appreciate it! I'm inclined to think "plant #2" is a kentiana ssp. weyetii as I DO have an IDed shephardii and its leaves are MUCH longer and thinner.
