There are thousands of different cultivars...maybe post this in the Rose forum? You might need to provide some more info, like your location and what sort of growing habit...

Is this a wild rose? Perhaps the one called "seven sisters".

Wild (as in species) roses produce single flowers with 5 petals.

Well, I meant wild as in escaped from a garden and now growing on a roadside. :)
